This Summer (2009), the Blues Hockey Club will be holding the 5TH Annual Summer Hockey Camp in Richmond,BC at the Richmond Ice Centre, starting June 10th.  Each group gets one Ice Time a week, on their designated scheduled times, with the Camp running for 10 weeks.

"Building Hockey Players" is our goal.  We focus on the development of a Player's overall improvement of Skating, Stickhandling, Passing and Shooting skills.  For Goaltenders we focus on the overall improvement of specific Goaltending Skills.  We strive to make it a Fun Learning experience for all particpants, to keep the love of the game alive within them.   For players that are more serious about their blooming hockey career, we push them to strive for Excellance.  Regardless of the skill level, our goal is to get the players to the next level in their skill development progression.

The Blues Hockey Club is led by Head Instructors, the Sander Brothers, TJ and AJ.  TJ Sander has 18 years of Coaching experience, and played Jr.A Hockey.  AJ Sander has 27 years of Coaching experience and has coached over 1,000 games as a Head Coach.  Both are NCCP Advance 1 Certified Coaches, and they are well experienced in Coaching Beginer Level Players, as well as Elite Level Players ,and all levels in between.  The Head Instructors are joined by a great supporting cast with Goaltending Instructors Travis Ingram, Andy Sander and Collyn Varnes, along with Player Instructors Gordon Taylor, Tony Cheema, Christian Matheson, Punky Oye, Nathalie May, Shane Sander, Jeff Matthews, Chris Matthews, Sabrina Wong and Deanna Mohr.

The 1st Blues Hockey Club, Summer Hockey Camp was held in 2005, and only consisted of 1 group.  The Camp filled up quickly, without any advertising or promotional aides, other then word of mouth.  Due to overwhelming response and positive feedback from the 1st Camp, for Summer of 2006, Blues Hockey Club expanded the Camp to 3 groups, which once again filled up mainly based on word of mouth advertisement.  Since summer of 2007 the Hockey Camp has been expanded to 4 groups.  Each Summer the Camp is improved upon to meet the changing needs of Players Development.

This years Camp will consist of... a Tyke Group (2003/04/05) on Wednesday evenings; a Novice Group (2001/02) on Tuesday evenings; a Atom/PeeWee Group (1997/98/99/2000) on Wednesday evenings after the Tyke Group; and a Bantam/Midget Girls Only Group (1992/93/94/95/96) on Tuesday evenings after the Novice Group.

The Camp is held each year in Richmond, BC at the Richmond Ice Centre, located at 14140 Triangle Road, off of Steveston Hwy and No.6 Road, beside the Silver City Cinema's.  Just off of Highway 99 by the George Massey Tunnel.

The Camp Format consist of Skills Development and Power Skating, along with Scrimmage/Game Time at the end of each session.

Blues Hockey Club is "A Legacy and Tradition of Excellance" that started in 1991, with a Bantam B team and has been going strong ever since, with their Regular Season teams consisting of the "BLUES", "Jr.BLUES" and "MINI BLUES".  The Blues Hockey Club takes geat pride in being "THE ORIGINAL BLUES" of Minor Hockey in Richmond.
